I have been helping the people of Japan Travel Planning with some articles – about driving in Japan, since that is my area of expertise, of course. There is so much to say and you continuously discover new things that you need to write about.
Like recently, when I was writing about the International Driving Permit, a piece of paper from the authorities that shows that you have a national driving license and am allowed to use it in Japan.
Once you have it, however, you can drive for a year (or until your drivers license expires). You just need to show the International Driving Permit and your drivers license from your home country, and you are good to go.
Now I started looking for more places I could help, but there are many blogs about Japan – but mostly personal experiences, not so much about helping others plan. Obviously, they have already included their own experiences – or they would not write it.
Then, there are the faceless big commercial blogs, who chew through articles at a pace that only ChatGPT can keep up with (although up to mow, they have of course been using humans). They make their money from advertising, which means they do not really have an incentive to keep their readers engaged. Not like a book, where you want your readers to follow you from start to end.
So I guess I will have to keep looking. Maybe there is someone who needs some articles written about how to get the most out of driving in Japan. I will just keep looking.
